Marriott International will introduce its City Express brand to the Asia Pacific region through the conversion of two hotels in Osaka, Japan, expected to reopen in 2026.

Marriott International, Inc. has signed an agreement with Pacifica Hotels G.K. to convert two existing hotels in Osaka into City Express by Marriott properties. The rebranded hotels, City Express by Marriott Osaka Namba South and City Express by Marriott Osaka Shin-Imamiya, are scheduled to open in 2026. This marks the debut of the City Express brand in the Asia Pacific region.

The City Express by Marriott Osaka Shin-Imamiya will feature 100 guest rooms in a nine-story building located in Haginochaya, Nishinari-ku. The hotel is adjacent to Shin-Imamiya Station, which is served by the JR Osaka Loop Line, Nankai Main Line, and Osaka Metro, providing connectivity across Osaka and the Kansai region.

The City Express by Marriott Osaka Namba South will offer 143 guest rooms in a 14-story building situated at Hanazono-kita, Nishinari-ku. The property is near Hanazonochō Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line and offers access to central Osaka via National Route 26.

Both properties are located in active retail, residential, and commercial areas, with proximity to attractions such as Abeno Harukas, Tennoji, Namba, Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi, Osaka Dome, and Osaka Castle Park. They are also connected to Kansai International Airport through the Nankai Main Line.

The introduction of the City Express brand in Japan aligns with Marriott’s strategy to expand its midscale offerings in the region.
