The hotel celebrates Rationalist heritage and design, curated by Patricia Urquiola, and features culinary offerings from Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Berton and Chef Haruo Ichikawa.

Marriott International’s The Luxury Collection has announced the addition of a new member to its brand: Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Milan. Following its recent opening in Autumn, Casa Brera is strategically located in the heart of Milan, offering guests a unique blend of Milanese heritage and cosmopolitan flair.

The hotel, designed by internationally renowned architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, is a careful restoration of the historic Rationalist building by architect Pietro Lingeri. The result is a harmonious blend of design that pays homage to Milanese style, the city’s rich cultural heritage, and its unparalleled influence on fashion and design.

Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader at The Luxury Collection noted that the debut of Casa Brera marked a pivotal milestone in the brand’s continued expansion in Europe. The hotel provides a spectacular setting for global explorers to experience the city’s charm and artistic spirit in true style.

Patricia Urquiola has curated the hotel’s design, perfectly combining its distinctive colorful and sophisticated design with the rigor of Rationalist architecture. The decor pays homage to the existing architecture, enhancing its external structure while ensuring the interior design follows the coherence and rhythm of the vertical lines of the facade. The building’s heritage, originally designed in the 1950s by esteemed Italian architect Pietro Lingeri, is celebrated through its geometric graphics on the walls, floors, and ceiling, which outline the interiors.

The hotel’s culinary direction is guided by acclaimed Michelin-starred Italian Chef Andrea Berton, who curates the offerings for Living Lounge, Scena Restaurant, and Etereo Skybar and Restaurant. Notably, celebrated Chef Haruo Ichikawa, the first Japanese chef to earn a Michelin star in Italy, oversees the Japanese cuisine of Odachi restaurant.

The hotel offers 101 elegantly designed guest rooms and 15 suites that reflect the spirit of Milanese art, culture, and design. The selected materials, such as walnut wood, Fior di Pesco marble, backlit brass, and printed glass, reflect Milan’s colors and character. The hotel’s suites, including the Brera Suite and the Presidential Milanese Suite, offer guests an expansive living room with a dining area and spectacular connecting terraces accessible through wide glass doors.

Helen Leighton, Vice President, Luxury Brands, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International, stated that Casa Brera is an exciting addition to the brand’s portfolio, further enhancing their presence in one of Europe’s most dynamic and stylish cities. She expressed eagerness in welcoming global explorers to this exceptional property.
