Martha Stewart celebrated her 84th birthday on Sunday, August 3, marking another milestone for the lifestyle mogul. The business icon took to Instagram to share glimpses of her special day while also building anticipation among her millions of followers with hints about a “surprise” announcement.

Through her Instagram Stories, Stewart reposted a photo originally shared by her 14-year-old granddaughter Jude Stewart, capturing a sweet moment as they enjoyed dinner at a seafood restaurant.

She followed this intimate glimpse with another Stories post featuring two celebratory cocktails, captioned “Celebration Begins!!!!” The Emmy Award-winning television host shared a more mysterious post on her main Instagram feed, featuring herself alongside a bonsai tree.

Stewart shared a cryptic teaser in the post’s caption, writing, “A little birthday surprise today. And a bigger one for all of you tomorrow.” The announcement has sparked excitement, with followers attempting to decode what the guru might have in store.

Beauty enthusiasts have been especially vocal, with one fan commenting, “86 Elm?! If so, can’t wait. I know you’ve taken your time to get it right,” referencing her skincare line.

As Stewart celebrates another milestone, her philosophy on aging and self-care continues to evolve. “My feeling about good looks and about good health is that you have to start early,” she told People in 2024, emphasizing the importance of consistency.

“I try to live a very healthy life. I eat extremely well. I take care of myself. I go to the gym, no matter what, four times a week,” she continued.

When it comes to skincare and maintaining her radiant complexion, Stewart emphasizes accessibility over expensive treatments or products. As far as keeping her skin in tip top shape, Stewart attributes it to a lifestyle of choices.

“I take care of my skin very, very well, and everybody can do that. It’s not like I spend a fortune on any of that stuff, but I managed to do it because it’s going to make a difference, and I’m going to live longer and healthier.”

Perhaps most importantly, Stewart’s perspective on aging challenges the conventional mindset of resisting natural progression. She has said she doesn’t “believe in anti-aging” and instead chooses to focus on habits that promote a longer, healthier life.
