If you consider yourself a sushi fan (and, honestly, even if you don’t) there’s a better-than-good chance you’re familiar with Nobu. Even more so, for residents of the city, with the news that the globally-renowned restaurant chain recently opened its first Canadian location in Toronto.

While not everyone is going to agree regarding the brand, there seems to be a general consensus spanning the chain’s many locations worldwide — with the exception of some early dissent surrounding the Toronto location — that the food at Nobu is nothing short of incredible.

Now, I have yet to try Nobu for myself, but one major celebrity just offered her review of the Toronto location, and I trust her opinion implicitly — Martha Stewart is officially a fan of Nobu Toronto.

Taking to her Instagram story on Wednesday, Oct. 30, the T.V. personality and lifestyle magnate posted a photo from Nobu Toronto’s dining room with the caption “Nobu in Toronto recently opened on Mercer Street. Very beautiful and very big!”

Martha Stewart’s Instagram story praising Nobu Toronto.

While she didn’t offer any words of praise or criticism when it comes to the actual food, anyone who knows Martha the way I do will know that the presentation of food (and the environment in which it’s served) is of equal — if not greater — importance to her as the actual food itself if. This is high praise from Martha, indeed.

Nobu Toronto tells blogTO that, while they’re unable to comment on what, exactly, Martha ordered, some of the most popular Nobu-style dishes worldwide include the Black Cod Miso, Yellowtail Jalapeno, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Lychee Martini. Wink, wink.

The lifestyle guru extraordinaire, a longtime friend of Nobu founder, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, found herself at the recently-opened restaurant to celebrate the premiere of her new Netflix documentary MARTHA.

There’s no word on how long Martha Stewart will be in town, so Toronto will have to stay tuned to find out whether she offers her opinions on any more of the city’s bounty of great restaurants.

Nobu Toronto is located at 33 Mercer Street.
