Meadows hits three-run homer, Tigers beat Jays 4-1

DUNEDEN, Fla. – Parker Meadows hit a three-run homer in the top of the third to help the Detroit Tigers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 in Saturday’s spring training game at TD Ballpark.
The Tigers (13-16) scored all four runs in the third thanks to the Blue Jays’ throwing errors and inexperienced pitching.

Tigers’ Ryan Kreidler reached first in the third on a throwing error by Jays third baseman Max Chapman. Zach Short was then hit by a Sem Lovers pitch.
Jake Rodgers then doubled and Kreidler scored, with Short in third. Then Meadows hit a homer on second base to make it 4-0.
The 21-year-old from Zeist, Netherlands, finished with one walk and one strikeout, allowing three hits and four runs in three innings.
The Jays (16-12) scored their only run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Otto Lopez pulled the bases loaded with two outs.
The Tigers defeated the Jays, 8-3.
The Blue Jays will face the New York Yankees on Sunday.
