Meghan Markle made a bold career decision in response to the wildfires that began tearing through Los Angeles in early January.

The Duchess of Sussex has been gearing up for the release of her new Netflix show With Love, Meghan, which was initially scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The show’s launch has now been pushed back to early March, the streaming platform revealed on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Markle mentioned the wildfires while announcing the decision to postpone her show’s premiere. “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” a statement attributed to Markle said.

With Love, Meghan will instead kick off on March 4, Netflix said in a Sunday press release.

The eight-episode series produced by the Suits alum will spotlight the mom of two as she “shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected,” according to the streaming platform. Markle will be joined by “friends, new and old” as they “roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”

The decision to delay the show’s launch was announced as wildfires continued causing devastation in the Los Angeles area. Two of the larger fires that broke out on Jan. 7, the Palisades and Eaton fires, forced thousands of residents—including many celebrities—to evacuate as firefighters battled dry weather conditions and high wind speeds in their efforts to extinguish the flames.

Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, have responded directly to the needs of those who were impacted by the wildfires. Video footage captured late last week showed them joining the many volunteers working with Chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen to provide evacuees with meals.
