Meliá Hotels Internationa is set to expand its presence in Italy by introducing the Meliá Venezia Lido hotel. The new project, situated on one of Venice’s barrier islands, will open its doors in June and will be managed by the Italian hospitality company SoGes Group Spa. The partnership will also involve the Spanish group assisting in distribution and loyalty programs.

The Meliá Venezia Lido Hotel is in the heart of Lido di Venezia, a 20-minute ferry ride from the renowned Piazza San Marco. It will be housed in a refurbished 1920s building, aligning with Meliá’s brand standards to provide guests with a unique hotel experience.

The hotel will feature 60 rooms, offering a blend of design and essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay for guests. Additional facilities include a restaurant and bar, serving a variety of culinary delights.

This new venture underscores Meliá Hotels International’s robust expansion in Italy. The company already operates eight hotels and plans to open six more, including the Meliá Venezia Lido.

Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “The Mediterranean remains one of the key growth regions for Meliá, and we are thrilled to partner with local groups like SoGes Group Spa, while also exploring new avenues of collaboration to expand our presence in strategic destinations.”

Paolo Galardi, Chairman of SoGes Group, highlighted the significance of this partnership, “We are thrilled to have such a renowned partner, and we look to the future with great confidence, hopeful that this collaboration will pave the way for many more successful joint projects.”
