- Meliá Hotels International, a leading Spanish hotel firm, is set to add Casa Lucia to The Meliá Collection in Buenos Aires, marking its first luxury brand hotel in Latin America.
- Casa Lucia, housed in the iconic Mihanovich Building, will offer a unique blend of history, luxury, and culture. It will feature a gastronomic restaurant, a wellness center, and a carefully curated cultural program.
Meliá Hotels International is set to expand its luxury hotel presence in Latin America by introducing Casa Lucia to its portfolio under The Meliá Collection brand. Located in Buenos Aires’ vibrant Retiro neighborhood, the hotel will be housed in the historic Mihanovich Building. This introduction marks the first hotel in Latin America under The Meliá Collection brand as the company continues its commitment to growth and offering high-value hospitality experiences.
Casa Lucia, recently undergoing refurbishment, will feature 142 rooms inspired by Argentina’s golden age. The hotel will blend the sophistication and elegance of the Mihanovich Building with modern touches. The luxury hotel will integrate art and culture into its unique concept, offering guests an immersive cultural experience.
The hotel will offer a unique cultural program that connects guests to Argentina’s golden age, the Belle Époque porteña. These activities will also highlight the surrounding environment, where art takes center stage. Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, expressed confidence in Casa Lucia, stating it will not only represent a milestone in Meliá’s expansion but also in Buenos Aires’ hotel landscape.
On the culinary front, Casa Lucia will feature a restaurant offering fine cuisine and a bar with a curated menu of signature cocktails. In addition, the hotel will house wellness spaces, including an indoor pool, a full spa, and a fully equipped gym, providing a sanctuary for well-being in the city’s heart.
Casa Lucia, which reopened last year following a complete refurbishment, will officially join The Meliá Collection in approximately one month once it is fully adapted to the brand’s standards. This new addition accelerates Meliá Hotels International’s growth in Latin America, particularly in Argentina, where the company already operates five hotels and has two more in the pipeline.
