Accor’s Mercure brand has announced its first foray into Oman by opening the Mercure Muscat Hotel in Muscat.

The hotel is 15 minutes from Muscat International Airport, providing easy access to business centers and government offices. This strategic location makes it ideal for both business travellers and holidaymakers.

The Mercure Muscat has 186 rooms and suites, each designed to combine elegance and simplicity. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the city, mountains, and sea, along with artistic touches that pay homage to Oman’s rich artistic culture.

Guests are offered a variety of facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, modern health club, and relaxing spa. For those visiting on business or hosting events, the hotel provides flexible meeting spaces capable of accommodating up to 450 guests. A large ballroom with private access and three smaller meeting rooms/boardrooms are also available.

The hotel’s dining experience focuses on Omani culture, helped by Mercure’s ‘Discover Local’ programme. Dining options range from “The Valley,” an all-day restaurant, to “M Café,” a comfortable lobby café, and “Yum Yum,” an Asian Fusion restaurant. The menu features a blend of regional and international dishes, all prepared with locally sourced and healthy ingredients.

Ismail Ibrahim, General Manager of Mercure Muscat, emphasized the importance of food and beverage services in providing guests with a genuine experience of their destination. He also pointed out the hotel’s unique design elements that incorporate local culture, promising guests an authentic stay.

Paul Stevens, Accor’s Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East, Africa & Türkiye, expressed his pride in welcoming the Mercure Muscat to Accor’s expanding portfolio. He underscored the brand’s commitment to providing experiences that connect travelers with Oman’s rich cultural heritage.

The hotel, owned by Castle Tourism Hotel Management LLC, is the first Mercure-branded property in Oman’s capital. The Mercure brand celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023 and recently opened its 1,000th hotel. With over 200 additional hotels in development, the brand continues to grow, offering high-quality standards infused with local culture.
