The international hotel brand Mercure has announced opening its first hotel in Ankara, Turkey. The Mercure Ankara Kızılay is located in the bustling district of Kızılay, providing guests with easy access to the city’s popular attractions, shopping areas, cultural landmarks, and business district.
The hotel, rebranded by the hospitality group Accor, blends modern design with Ankara’s rich heritage. It features 72 newly renovated rooms, each equipped with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable, convenient stay for business and leisure travelers.
Mercure Ankara Kızılay also offers a variety of dining options. Shine Restaurant offers an open buffet breakfast, while Kentro Café provides a relaxed space for light snacks and beverages. Shine Bar, open from noon until late, offers a lively ambiance for socializing or unwinding.
Paul Stevens, Chief Operating Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy Division, Middle East, Africa and Turkey at Accor, expressed enthusiasm about the new hotel. He said the opening represents a significant step in Accor’s expansion in Turkey’s capital and will contribute to the growth of the vibrant Kızılay neighborhood.
The hotel’s General Manager, Abidin Akpınar, echoed this sentiment, expressing excitement about showcasing the neighborhood’s energy through the hotel. He emphasized the hotel’s commitment to delivering an experience that reflects local culture and makes every guest feel at home.
Mercure Ankara Kızılay also caters to corporate and private events with three versatile meeting spaces. These rooms can accommodate up to 120 guests and are equipped with modern facilities, natural daylight, and options for outdoor breaks.
The hotel features a well-equipped fitness center for fitness enthusiasts, offering a comprehensive selection of cardio machines and strength training equipment.
Guests at the hotel can also benefit from Accor’s lifestyle loyalty program, ALL, which allows members to earn points that can be redeemed at Accor hotels worldwide. Members can also enjoy exclusive benefits such as discounts, free room upgrades, and late check-out.
The new hotel in Ankara adds to Mercure’s international network of over 1,000 hotels. In Turkey, Accor currently manages eight Mercure hotels and plans to open three additional properties by 2026.
