Michael Strahan has spoken out following news that Deion Sanders has been battling cancer. As Paradereported, the NFL legend has been fighting a rare form of bladder cancer privately after the condition was discovered during a routine doctor’s visit earlier this year.
The news led a lot of people to speak out, including Sanders’ friend Strahan. Taking to Instagram, the Good Morning America star shared a photo of him with Sanders back in the day.

“Proud of my brotha @deionsanders. He has continued to fight and do it while using his platform to help others. Love you my man… and can’t wait to see you back out there doing what you are meant to do, COACH!!” read part of the caption.
Then Strahan had a message for some haters. Strahan wrote, “This photo is from back in the day when he was coaching high school ball… ‘he ain’t new to this, he’s true to it’… if you don’t believe he’s doing this for the love of the kids and giving young men and women an opportunity on and off the field, I respectfully ask you to please think again. @smacentertainment @conschwartz.”
Despite Strahan’s implication of criticism, the fans in his comments had nothing but love and support for Strahan and Sanders in the comments section of the Instagram share.
“No one could have said better Micheal!! Deion is one of a kind. The brightest light amongst all coaches in D1 football coaches. Health is priceless and Deion is delivering a message,” wrote a fan.
Another fan shared, “Sending Prayers to Coach Deion🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼,” while a different one said, “Praying for an [sic] Speedy recovery 🙏🏿🙏🏿.”
Several other fans simply left prayer and clapping emojis in the comments.
