The news sent fans to social media to share their memories of the actress, whose first credited role was on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete from 1994 through 1996.
A few years later, she appeared on another Nickelodeon show, Blue’s Clues, alongside fellow child star Amanda Bynes, wishing Blue a happy birthday in a short but sweet clip posted on X, formerly Twitter.
The poster also uploaded a later still photo of the two actresses as adults, noting that “the two Nickelodeon icons remained friends.”

The post led some fans to share their feelings about the actress in the wake of her sudden death.
“I actually think Michelle seemed to have been living a great life, outside of her health issues. She was never controversial or in the media at all,” wrote one.
“Man, sad day,” added another.
“Never realized they were only a year apart, if that. So disheartening,” a third fan wrote.
“This just broke my heart,” another fan posted.
“We’re supposed to grow old together,” added yet another fan.
Bynes is still alive but is keeping a low profile while attempting to stick to a healthy lifestyle after battling mental health problems that prompted her to leave the entertainment world behind.
Last December, the 38-year-old former actress cohosted her first art show at a collaborative pop-up in Los Angeles with apparel designer Austin Babbitt. It marked her first public event in more than a decade. At the show, Bynes exhibited her creations titled “Stars,” “Grey,” “Night” and “Lavender Dreams” while she met with fans.
