Canadian comedy icons Mike Myers and Colin Mochrie are reuniting for a rare live show in Toronto. And it’s all for a very special cause.
It’s Always Something: Open Mike is an upcoming fundraiser in support of Gilda’s Toronto, a cancer care community named in honour of the late comedian Gilda Radner. The comedy event will take place at The Second City Toronto on May 12, 2025.
“At Gilda’s Toronto, we believe laughter connects us all, even in the hardest moments,” says Elizabeth Dalgleish, executive director of Gilda’s Toronto, in a press release.
“It’s Always Something: Open Mike isn’t just a comedy event, it’s a celebration of what Gilda Radner stood for – that no one should face cancer alone. To bring this event to The Second City Toronto, where her comedy journey began, is a powerful tribute to her legacy.”
Full circle moment
That being said, the evening holds added meaning, as Radner was part of the Second City Toronto troupe. She was the first cast member hired by Lorne Michaels for NBC’s Saturday Night, the show now known as Saturday Night Live.
This May, that legacy comes full circle.
Hosted by David Shore, the comedy event will see Myers and Mochrie reunite on stage. Monkey Toast: The Improvised Talk Show will also be part of the evening.

Rare event
The show will be Myers’ first performance at The Second City Toronto in more than 30 years. Proceeds will support Gilda’s Toronto and its work providing resources for those impacted by cancer.
