Miley Cyrus has no problem with being the older partner in a relationship.

During the Thursday, June 19 episode of Miley’s sister Brandi Cyrus and mother Tish Cyrus‘s Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast, the Flowers singer shared why she doesn’t mind the label, going on to say she enjoys being five years older than her boyfriend Maxx Morando.

“He will be 27 when I turn 33,” Miley told Brandi, whose boyfriend is also younger than her by one year. “Which I’m so excited for him to turn 27 because that was such a great year for me.”

Brandi joked that both the sisters were “cougars,” while Miley added that she hopes Morando takes her advice as he ventures into his late twenties and early thirties.

“I’m just hoping that, as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything is going to be great,” Miley said. “That’s right when I started turning my life around.”

Miley, who was first linked to the musician in 2021, previously shared what it’s like to be in an age-gap relationship with Harper’s Bazaar in November 2024.

“He looks at life really differently than I do,” Miley said at the time. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters.”

Yet, she noted that they ultimately have more in common than not.

“We just don’t take life too seriously.” she said.

Along with the slight age gap, Cyrus also cites a surprising factor for the couple’s compatibility – astrology.

“He’s a Scorpio and so is his grandfather, that’s what makes Maxx just so cool because he can sting,” Miley shared. “[Scorpios are] very cool, think that they’re little angels, until it turns around and they got a sting.”
