Minor Hotels has appointed Karim von Alvensleben as general manager of Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane, which is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026.
Minor Hotels has announced the appointment of Karim von Alvensleben as general manager of Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane, a 197-room property expected to open in Vientiane, Laos, in the second quarter of 2026. Von Alvensleben will oversee the pre-opening and launch of the hotel, including operational planning and team development.
Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane will be located in the capital city of Laos and is part of Minor Hotels’ growth strategy in Asia. The property will feature 197 rooms and is positioned to serve both international travelers and the local market. The appointment of von Alvensleben is part of Minor Hotels’ approach to supporting new developments with experienced leadership.
The company’s 2026 pipeline includes several scheduled openings across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. In addition to Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane and Avani Kota Kinabalu Hotel, both planned for the second quarter of 2026, Minor Hotels is set to open Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel, Avani Wollongong, and Avani Queenstown in Australia and New Zealand in 2026. Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort is also scheduled to open in late 2026.
Von Alvensleben’s responsibilities at Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane will include brand activation, talent development, and operational management. The appointment is intended to support the hotel’s launch and integration into Minor Hotels’ regional portfolio.
Minor Hotels continues to expand its presence in emerging destinations, with a focus on properties in Asia and other high-demand regions. The 2026 pipeline reflects the company’s strategy to expand its footprint in these markets through new hotel openings and management appointments.
