Minor Hotels has announced the promotion of Sonia Sammut to General Manager of Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort, effective 1 January 2026.
Minor Hotels has promoted Sonia Sammut to the position of General Manager at Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort, effective 1 January 2026. Sammut most recently served as Resort Manager at the same property, overseeing the operations of 70 villas and leading a team responsible for guest services.
According to Minor Hotels, Sammut has been involved with Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort for the past eighteen months, contributing to operational improvements and guest satisfaction. Her previous roles within Minor Hotels include leadership positions at Anantara The Palm Dubai Residences, where she introduced a facilities management programme and sustainability initiatives. She was also involved in the pre-opening of DUKES Dubai, managing recruitment, training, and guest experience initiatives.
Sammut holds advanced certifications in leadership, agile management, and facilities management. Minor Hotels stated that she is multilingual and has experience in guest engagement and team leadership.
The appointment will take effect on 1 January 2026. No further information regarding future plans or additional responsibilities was provided in the announcement.
