  • Minor Hotels and Funyard Minor are partnering with YouChao International Tourism Hotel Co. Ltd to develop the Anantara Thousand Island Lake Resort in China, with a planned opening in October 2027.
  • The resort, which will be located in Hangzhou City, a popular holiday destination, is part of Minor Hotels’ expansion plans in China. The company aims to increase its properties from four to 15 in the next three years.

Minor Hotels and its Chinese joint venture, Funyard Minor, are partnering with YouChao International Tourism Hotel Co. Ltd to develop the Anantara Thousand Island Lake Resort. The 160-key resort, which will open in October 2027, will be situated on the banks of Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou City, bringing a new dimension to this popular holiday destination in Zhejiang Province.

The resort, covering a total construction area of 36,000 square meters, will celebrate Qiandao’s reputation as the world’s most island-rich freshwater lake. It will host a variety of guests and offer amenities like a fitness center, swimming pool, spa, tennis court, tea garden, and forest oxygen bar. The resort’s dining outlets will offer all-day dining, specialty dining, and Chinese restaurants.

Minor Hotels’ Vice President of Development for Greater China, Eddy Tiftik, expressed the company’s excitement about this partnership, highlighting the project’s potential positive economic impact on the local community and the sustained development of the tourism industry. Similarly, Tang Wenyi, Chairman of YouChao International Tourism Hotel Co. Ltd, expressed delight at the collaboration and the potential to leverage Qiandao Lake’s immense potential as a world-class tourism destination.

The new resort will be located 22 kilometers from Qiandaohu Railway Station and 150 kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, providing easy access to major cities such as Hangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, and Nanjing. The Anantara Thousand Island Lake Resort is part of Minor Hotels’ ambitious expansion plan in China, aiming to increase its four properties to 15 within three years.
