Minor Hotels Set to Launch NH Collection Ibiza in Balearic Islands this April

Minor Hotels has announced the upcoming launch of the NH Collection brand in Spain’s Balearic Islands. The launch is slated for April with the introduction of NH Collection Ibiza. The Sir Joan Hotel, which AX Partners recently purchased, will undergo a refurbishment before being relaunched as part of the NH Collection brand.

The refurbishment will include enhancements to the hotel’s facilities and services. Among these improvements is an upgrade to the gastronomic offerings, with plans for a new restaurant and cocktail options. The hotel’s location, overlooking the port of Ibiza and the old town, positions it as a key player in the premium tourism market.

This will be the second opening for the NH Collection brand in 2025. The first will be the NH Collection Alagna Mirtillo Rosso in Italy, opening in March. Adding these properties will help strengthen the NH Collection brand, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and boasts nearly 100 hotels worldwide.

Introducing the NH Collection brand in the Balearic Islands is a strategic move for the company. Gonzalo Aguilar, CEO of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, believes it will bolster their presence in Spain and provide an appealing offering for their main outbound markets in the rest of Europe. Aleix Recasens, founding partner of AX Partners, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the brand’s potential to enhance Ibiza’s hotel offerings and marking a milestone as the first NH Collection in the Balearic Islands.
