Minor Hotels has signed a management agreement with MK Group for two resorts on the Adriatic coast, marking the company’s entry into Croatia and Slovenia, with both properties scheduled to reopen under Minor Hotels’ brands following refurbishment programs.

Minor Hotels has entered into a management agreement with MK Group for two resorts on the Adriatic coast, marking the company’s first properties in Croatia and Slovenia. Minor Hotels will begin operating the two properties from February 12, 2026, with both resorts scheduled to reopen for the 2026 season in late March. Following extensive refurbishment programs, the resorts will relaunch under the Anantara and Minor Reserve Collection brands in the first quarter of 2027.

Hotel Palace Portorož, located in the Slovenian resort town of Portorož, features 183 keys, three restaurants, three bars, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, beach access, and a dedicated meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) area. After refurbishment, the property will relaunch as Hotel Palace Portoroz, Minor Reserve Collection Slovenia in the first quarter of 2027.

Adriatic Istria Resort, located in Savudrija on the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, less than a 30-minute drive from Portorož, offers 186 keys, three restaurants, four bars, a dedicated MICE area, a full-service spa and wellness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, and direct beach access. The property also includes the Golf Adriatic PGA National Croatia course, an 18-hole, par 72 golf course running alongside the coastline. Following refurbishment, the resort will relaunch as Anantara Adriatic Istria Resort in early 2027.

Both properties are owned by MK Group, which operates in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro, with businesses in tourism, real estate, renewable energy, agriculture, and the food industry.

The properties are accessible via Trieste Airport in Italy, Portorož Airport in Slovenia, and Pula and Rijeka Airports in Croatia.

Minor Hotels’ development pipeline includes plans to grow its luxury presence in Europe and other regions with brands such as Anantara and Minor Reserve Collection. The Portorož property will be part of the Minor Reserve Collection, a new luxury soft brand.
