Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. and Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. announced the reopening of Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo on February 1, 2026, following a complete renovation, with new dining venues by Graphic Holdings Co., Ltd. set to open at both Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo and Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo West on the same day.
Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo will reopen on February 1, 2026, after a comprehensive renovation that includes updates to guest rooms and public spaces, as well as the addition of new dining options. On the same day, Sapporo-based restaurant group Graphic Holdings Co., Ltd. will introduce new restaurants at both Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo and the adjacent Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo West.
The renovation features a design concept inspired by Hokkaido’s natural landscape and local culture. The hotel’s reception counter and selected interior elements are crafted from thinned wood sourced from forests owned by the Mitsui Fudosan Group in Hokkaido. Room configurations have been updated, increasing the number of triple rooms from 20 to 102 units and adding 38 quadruple rooms, for a total of 177 rooms across seven types. Interiors and furnishings have been modernized, with designs and signage reflecting traditional Hokkaido techniques such as “Yukara-ori.”
Public spaces have also been renovated. The lobby lounge features artwork inspired by the Blue Pond in Biei and the Historic Village of Hokkaido’s Red Brick Building. The large public bath has been fully renovated, and a new utility lounge on the second floor provides coffee service, vending machines, laundry facilities, and microwaves.
Graphic Holdings Co., Ltd. will operate two new dining venues. At Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo, “Hakko &” on the first floor will focus on fermentation, using Hokkaido’s seasonal ingredients and Japanese culinary techniques. The breakfast buffet will include a live kitchen serving onigiri made with Hokkaido-grown “Nanatsuboshi” rice, miso-based dishes, and seasonal delicatessen items. At Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo West, “WEST Table” will offer a Western-style breakfast using locally sourced ingredients and contemporary culinary techniques.
The hotel will introduce a program for guests staying multiple nights that connects them with Sapporo’s food culture at Kita-No-Gourmet within the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market. Through this program, breakfast vouchers can be redeemed at the market for seafood dishes such as sashimi and seafood rice bowls. A complimentary shuttle bus service will operate between the hotel and the market.
