Bauer Hotel in Venice
Mohari Hospitality has announced its acquisition of the Bauer Hotel, an iconic property in the heart of Venice, Italy. The hotel represents a substantial addition to Mohari’s growing luxury European portfolio. Mohari, in partnership with Omnam Investment Group, a real estate investment and development group specializing in luxury hospitality, acquired the property with plans for an extensive restoration.
The Bauer Hotel, an architectural gem that embodies late 19th-century Venetian medieval mannerism, is situated on the Grand Canal in the historic San Marco district, steps from the world-renowned Piazza San Marco. The hotel’s restoration will aim to recapture its grandeur and emphasize its importance as a symbol of Venetian elegance.
Mark Scheinberg, Founder and Principal of Mohari Hospitality, emphasized the acquisition’s alignment with the company’s vision to establish a collection of luxury hospitality destinations marked by iconic locations, heritage value, and exceptional guest experiences. He added, “The Bauer is truly irreplaceable, prominently situated in the beautiful city of Venice. We are proud to have the opportunity to preserve and elevate this extraordinary property, honoring its legacy while transforming it to become one of Europe’s most distinguished hotels.”
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will lend their design, restoration, and operational skills to the project.
The Bauer Hotel becomes part of Mohari’s expanding collection of luxury European assets, following the company’s recent acquisition of a historic property in Paris, set to become a prominent luxury hotel, and a previous investment in the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid, one of Europe’s most exceptional hotels.
The acquisition was advised by Kryalos SGR, DLA Piper, Deloitte, Eastil Secured, CBRE, and Cushman & Wakefield.
