In May 2025, Monaco’s hotel sector experienced record-breaking performance metrics, coinciding with the Formula 1 Grand Prix event. According to preliminary data from CoStar, the average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) reached the highest monthly levels recorded.
The occupancy rate in May was 75.2%, marking a 14.4% increase compared to the previous year. The ADR was reported at EUR 1,029.67, a 4.9% rise from the prior year, while RevPAR surged by 20.0% to EUR 773.80. This period also marked the first instance of Monaco’s monthly ADR exceeding EUR 1,000.
Specifically, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, Monaco’s ADR soared to EUR 3,545.41 and RevPAR reached EUR 3,334.22, with an occupancy rate of 96.7% recorded on Saturday, May 24. These figures represent the highest daily metrics observed since the last Grand Prix in 2024; the highest occupancy was 97.2%.
Comparatively, during the 2024 Grand Prix from May 24-26, the peak occupancy was slightly higher at 98.0% on Saturday, May 25. However, ADR and RevPAR were lower in 2024, peaking at EUR 2,925.20 and EUR 2,843.46, respectively, on Sunday, May 26.
The data underscores the significant impact of the Formula 1 Grand Prix on Monaco’s hotel industry, driving substantial increases in key performance indicators.
