Montreal’s Royalmount is set to open in the coming months, offering a diverse array of high-end stores, restaurants, and outdoor spaces. The expansive mall will feature 170 shops, 60 dining options, and numerous interactive attractions for visitors to enjoy.
Led by real estate development and management company Carbonleo, the Royalmount shopping mall in Montreal has a total budget of $7 billion. This significant investment highlights Royalmount’s commitment to providing top-tier brands, experiences, and offerings to the Quebec market.
The first phase includes an 824,000-square-foot, two-level retail and lifestyle complex, along with a three-kilometre linear park called Le Champ Libre, which will be surrounded by an outdoor public piazza.
Now, while Royalmount was set to open its dining hall and phase one shopping areas by August 15, the opening date has since been pushed back.
While the reason behind the delay remains unknown, it’s safe to assume that the mega-mall simply isn’t ready to welcome thousands of visitors daily.
The Montreal mega-mall will now open its doors to the public on September 5, 2024.

Carbonleo promises that the site will be 100% walkable end to end, allowing shoppers and visitors alike to get around easily. Not to mention that all services will be available within a “maximum 15-minute walk.”
With the new September opening date generating much excitement, many are curious about how they will be able to access the new mall. Fortunately, there are several ways to reach the Royalmount.
The mall will be accessible via the STM and Royalmount’s skybridge, which connects the De La Savane metro station directly to the Royalmount mall. Thankfully, this passageway is now officially complete.
The Royalmount mega-mall will also be accessible by bicycle. Whether you live nearby or bring your bike via the metro, the skybridge will make it easy for cyclists to navigate. Upon arrival, cyclists can choose to leave their bikes in one of the over 500 bike parking spaces.
Additionally, Carbonleo has confirmed that the mall will be connected to the city’s bike path network, making it even easier for Montrealers to reach the new luxury mall.
