Movie Monday: ‘Chainsaw Man’ Cuts Through the Competition, Best TV Shows to Binge Watch

31 October 20252 Mins Read

Perhaps it’s appropriate that Chainsaw Man—The Movie; Reze Arc features a character called the Bomb Devil. After all, the movie itself has been an off-the-chain blockbuster.

Chainsaw Man sliced a path straight to No. 1 at the box office, banking nearly $17.3 million in North America. But that’s only the start of the story. Overseas, the manga-based anime roared to $90.7 million, pushing its one-weekend worldwide gross to a staggering $108 million.

Chainsaw Man is the second anime flick to top the American box office this fall—the first being the wordily titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—The Movie: Infinity Castle. The latest Demon Slayer film has collected $132.4 million stateside and $666.8 million worldwide so far, so Chainsaw Man could be far from out of gas itself.

Last week’s champ, Black Phone 2, dropped to second place with $13 million. At this point it’s dialed up $49 million domestically. The newcomer Regretting You finished close behind with nearly $12.9 million. The romance drama also embraced $10 million internationally, bringing its global tally to $22.9 million.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere went pretty much nowhere itself. Many had expected the Bruce Springsteen biopic to notch a box-office win. But The Boss backed down from Chainsaw Man, and the Oscar hopeful earned just $9.1 million in North America. Deliver Me From Nowhere did bank another $7 million overseas (for a grand global total of $16.1 million), but so far, the movie has not been born to run. Perhaps its glory days lie ahead of it.

Tron: Ares closed out the top five with $4.9 million.
