On October 17, 2024, Angeles Mountain Partners LLC (AMP) announced the purchase of Mt. Waterman Ski Lifts LLC, taking over the management and operations of the mountain Resort. The resort is located just an hour from downtown Los Angeles and offers outdoor activities for both summer and winter.

Mt. Waterman, founded in 1937, is known for its exceptional snowfall and varied landscapes. It provides tailored areas for beginners and more lift-accessible backcountry than any other resort in Southern California. AMP plans to improve the resort while maintaining its natural beauty and intimate feel.

AMP’s planned upgrades include a modern snowmaking system, a tubing hill with magic carpet, a glamping village, and curated dining experiences. They also plan to offer exclusive membership opportunities through the Waterman100 program. This limited membership will offer private powder days, helipad access, preferred event access, and a limited ownership position in the project.

Joshua Shelton, Co-Founder of AMP, expressed his excitement about the project, highlighting the resort’s closeness to Los Angeles. The company has a phased renovation strategy, including modern amenities like a large special events venue, updated warming hut and clubhouse buildings, a mountain bike park, and other year-round adventure opportunities.

Mt. Waterman, located in the Angeles National Forest, has been a popular outdoor destination since 1937. Known as the “Yosemite of LA,” it offers a rustic, authentic experience. Under AMP’s management, Mt. Waterman aims to remain an iconic LA destination while evolving to meet the needs of a new generation of adventurers.
