It may have been a few years since she made you cry ugly tears in My Girl, but actress Anna Chlumsky is doing just fine.

The brunette beauty, 44, rose to superstardom as a child star in the 1991 coming-of-age film about a young girl named Vada Sultenfuss who lives with her father, played by Dan Aykroyd, in a funeral home during the tumultuous early ’70s. The film chronicles the adventures of Vada and her best friend Thomas J., played by Macauley Culkin. In more recent years, Chlumsky made fans laugh hysterically as the workaholic Amy on Veep opposite Julia Louis Dreyfuss. But these days, she’s having the time of her life working in the theater.

Chlumsky hit the red carpet to attend the press meet and greet of Queens at the Manhattan Theatre Club Rehearsal Studios on Wednesday in New York City. Wearing a cream-colored dress with an asymmetrical neckline, the actress sported a shaggy brown haircut with bangs.

What Show is Anna on These Days?

Chlumsky currently appears on Smoke on Apple TV+. The show follows Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett as an arson investigator and a detective who are working together to stop two serial arsonists in the Pacific Northwest, according to Forbes. Chlumsky’s character shows up halfway through the season to join the investigation.

Would Anna Chlumsky Ever Do a Third ‘My Girl’ Movie?

While longtime fans and a whole new generation are discovering My Girl and its sequel, My Girl 2, Chlumsky is dead set on absolutely never doing a sequel.

“I’m going to stop you there,” she told Forbes when asked. “I’ve heard so many different ideas about that, but I will never, ever do one. I will never be involved in that.”

Her Smoke co-star, John Leguizamo, was surprised by her assured tone.

“Oh, wow,” Leguizamo laughed. “That’s so definitive. You never say never in this business. I love that she takes a stand.”

“Yes, because I don’t want to do it. Sorry. Life’s too short,” Chlumsky replied. “I don’t need to do that. No. I played that character when I was ten years old. I don’t have to play it as an adult.”
