2025 was another excellent year for K-dramas on Netflix, and one of the biggest yet. With dozens of new dramas arriving across the year, subscribers stream billions of hours worth of content. Here are the most popular K-dramas from Netflix’s daily top 10s in 2025.

Unsurprisngly Squid Game dominated K-dramas in 2025

The first season of Squid Game is still the most successful television season ever released by Netflix. Between Stranger Things and Squid Game, it’s tough to determine which has had the most impact on pop culture this decade. What is certain, however, is that the long-awaited release of the second season brought back millions of fans.

To say that Squid Game season 2 was a 2024 release is almost disingenuous, as the majority of views and its performance came in early 2025, dominating the narrative in the early part of the year. The second season spent a total of 14 weeks on Netflix’s global top 10 list and, during that time, amassed an astonishing 1.445 billion viewing hours, equating to 201.5 million completed views. By the release of the first engagement report for January 2025-June 2025, the series had amassed 203.8 million completed views

Halfway through the year, the climactic (and divisive) end to the series with the third season saw another giant surge in views. However, season 3 saw a significant dip in time spent in the global top ten list compared to season 2, with only 9 weeks. This resulted in 142.4 million views, which for any series is monumental, but for the finale of Squid Game, it was quite surprising. The drop in viewership is likely due to its divisive ending, with many fans unhappy with the outcome, potentially putting off some viewers from finishing the series.

Regardless of how the series ended, it was going to take something monumental to beat Squid Game in 2025.

Strong performances from weekly K-dramas

2025 also saw some very strong performances for weekly K-dramas. In fact, weekly K-dramas take up five places amongst the top ten ranked K-dramas from Netflix’s daily top 10s for the year, including second place for Bon Appétit, Your Majesty and third place for Dynamite Kiss.

While Dynamite Kiss spent longer on the global top ten list and amassed more completed views (but fewer viewing hours) than Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, the latter spent much longer on regional top lists in countries around the world. However, it must be stated that Dynamite Kiss was playing catch-up, having released almost three months after Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

On the global top ten list, the five weekly K-dramas amassed 1.186 billion viewing hours, equating to 126.3 million completed views. A fantastic performance all round, which clearly shows why Netflix continues to invest in the South Korean market.

Collectively, the 17 weekly K-dramas that featured in Netflix’s global top ten list amassed 2.111 billion viewing hours, equating to a massive 230.8 million completed views.

K-Dramas produced by Netflix continue to shine

With the collective hours and views of Squid Game and the remaining Netflix K-dramas on the list, subscribers have spent 4.136 billion viewing hours (1.817 billion without Squid Game), watching K-dramas on Netflix. This equates to 548.8 million completed views (205.9 million without Squid Game).

One particular K-drama has outshone the others, When Life Gives You Tangerines, which amassed 481.6 viewing hours and 36.5 million views. Other exceptional performers were Trauma Code: Heroes on Call and Genie, Make a Wish, with the former amassing 26.6 million completed views and the latter 18.9 million.
