IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to launch a new hotel, Holiday Inn Ujjain, in collaboration with Peachery LLP. The hotel, scheduled to open in 2028, is part of IHG’s expansion strategy into rapidly growing secondary markets in India.

Ujjain is a significant Hindu pilgrimage center known for hosting the Kumbh Mela festival. It is also home to the renowned Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple, one of the twelve revered Jyotirlinga shrines. These factors make Ujjain a significant attraction for spiritual tourists and a popular wedding venue.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed excitement over the partnership with Peachery LLP. He noted that Ujjain’s appeal as a major pilgrimage site and its popularity for destination weddings make it a fitting location for the Holiday Inn brand. Jain is confident that the new hotel will provide enriching experiences for visitors seeking spiritual solace or memorable celebrations.

Santosh Agrawal, Partner and Co-founder of Peachery LLP, also expressed delight at the partnership. He noted that combining IHG’s global standards with Peachery’s local expertise will create a distinguished destination for guests. With its excellent location and world-class amenities, Agrawal is confident that the new hotel will set new hospitality standards in Ujjain.

The Holiday Inn Ujjain will feature 100 rooms, including 10 suites and various dining options. It will also offer an all-day dining facility, a lounge bar, and a specialty restaurant. The hotel will provide a banquet hall and five versatile meeting venues for meetings and events. Additional amenities include a pool and fitness center, ensuring guests a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Currently, IHG operates 46 hotels across six brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. The company also has a strong pipeline of 58 hotels set to open in the country in the next three to five years.
