Meliá and Summum are set to open a new four-star luxury hotel in Santa Ponsa, a popular coastal region in southwest Mallorca. This marks the fourth joint venture between the two companies, emphasizing their shared goal of offering superior experiences and enhancing tourism quality in the area.

The Summum Hotel Group will manage the hotel under the luxury brand The Meliá Collection. Hotel Golf Santa Ponsa, part of the Nigorra group, will own it and undergo a complete refurbishment before its planned opening in 2026. The hotel is located within the Santa Ponsa I golf course, a prestigious venue known for hosting several international tournaments, including seven European championships.

The hotel, designed by architect Alejandro Palomino, blends modern elements with traditional Mediterranean touches while harmonizing with the local landscape. It will feature 88 rooms, providing high comfort and elegance. Amenities include a fine-dining restaurant, a rooftop bar with panoramic views, a state-of-the-art spa, multiple swimming pools, and modern meeting rooms.

The renovation and reopening of the hotel, initially launched in 1977, represent an effort to enhance the quality of tourism facilities in Santa Ponsa and reduce seasonality in the region. The hotel is part of The Meliá Collection, a luxury brand under the Meliá Hotels International portfolio known for its unique and personalized services.

Summum Hotel Group, acclaimed for its meticulous management and attention to detail, will ensure that every service aspect meets the highest standards. The new hotel will further enhance The Meliá Collection’s presence in Mallorca, joining existing properties such as Finca Ratxó, a rustic retreat in the Serra de Tramuntana, and the Summum Boutique Hotel in the historic heart of Palma.

Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating the alliance with Summum is a testament to their combined capability to spearhead luxury tourism in Mallorca. Javier Vich, CEO of Summum, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the companies’ mutual trust and commitment to developing Mallorca as a premier destination for quality tourism. Both companies are also planning to open the Meliá Collection Ronda, the first five-star hotel in Malaga, in 2026.
