Welcome to a huge end-of-week recap of everything new on Netflix this week. Thanks to the penultimate month of the year, there’s a LOT to watch on Netflix, with the streamer rotating its movie library, in particular, alongside its regular Netflix Originals and other licensed pickups throughout the week. In all, Netflix added 145 new movies and series this week, so let’s waste no time in covering all of them.
As we enter a new month, we’d recommend familiarizing yourself with all the new arrivals scheduled to touch down in our complete guide for November 2025.
What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend
Game Night (2018)
Rating: R
Language: English
Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy
Director: John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein
Cast: Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Kyle Chandler
Writer: Mark Perez
Runtime: 100 min / 1h 40m
As we covered a little earlier last month, Netflix just got a whole host of new Warner Bros. Pictures movies from the past decade. It saw newer titles like Wonka drop, as well as underrated classics such as Game Night. Headlined by Jason Bateman, who will be fresh in your mind if you watched Black Rabbit in September, stars alongside Rachel McAdams for a fun action-comedy that’s got some killer visuals and fantastic acting.
Game Night follows a tight-knit group of friends who treat weekly board game night like a sacred ritual. Things get delightfully complicated when one of their own, the charismatic but somewhat unreliable brother figure, ups the stakes with a more immersive experience. What begins as a playful competition soon spirals into a real kidnapping caper, with everyone struggling to tell what’s staged and what’s genuinely dangerous. The tension and comedy feed off that confusion, letting the film lean into mystery and slapstick in equal measure while the characters scramble to stay one step ahead of chaos.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
Rating: R
Language: English
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Horror
Director: Mike Flanagan
Cast: Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson, Kyliegh Curran
Writer: Mike Flanagan, Stephen King
Runtime: 152 min / 2h 32m
Staying with the Warner Bros. Pictures movies for another pick, we move on to Doctor Sleep. I, to my shame, must admit that I’ve only just recently watched this Mike Flanagan movie. Not sure why it took so long, given that The Shining is one of the best movies ever made, but I’m pleased to find that it stands on its own two feet enough to justify its existence and actually provides a solid extension of the original.
Perfect for watching over this Halloween weekend, the plot follows Danny from the original film, now a traumatized adult, is sought out by a young psychic as evil beings that feed on their powers close in.
Little Women (Limited Series)
Number of episodes: 3
Rating: TV-PG
Language: English
Genre: Drama
Cast: Maya Hawke, Kathryn Newton, Dylan Baker
Runtime: 180 min / 3h 0m
In what seems to be the start of a bigger licensing push from PBS, today saw the touchdown of the fantastic three-episode miniseries, first released in the United Kingdom on the BBC, adapting the famous book that most recently saw an adaptation by Greta Gerwig. Featuring Stranger Things star Maya Hawke, the series follows sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March on their journey from childhood to adulthood. It’s certainly different from some of the other adaptations out there, but still excellently produced, well-acted, and beautifully written.
Ballad of a Small Player (2025)
Rating: R
Language: English
Genre: Drama, Mystery, Thriller
Director: Edward Berger
Cast: Colin Farrell, Tilda Swinton, Alex Jennings
Writer: Rowan Joffe, Lawrence
Netflix’s big new release of the week, beyond The Witcher season 4, which in my heart of hearts can’t recommend watching, was Ballad of a Small Player, a tense new thriller headlined by Colin Farrell. He plays a lord who is having to lay low in Macau after he’s made plenty of enemies thanks to growing gambling debts. It turns out, though, you can’t exactly run away from all your problems as his enemies soon catch up to him.
In our belated review published yesterday, we concluded that the movie is pretty good, albeit likely to be a footnote to 2025’s prestige releases. Our own Andrew Morgan wrote, “Ballad of a Small Player gives Colin Farrell a large canvas to work on, but the story doesn’t give enough emotional resonance to impact its audience. Don’t bet on being haunted by this one.”

No prizes for the TV series list either, with Nobody Wants This comfortably picking up the most points in the top 10s over the past seven days.
