Mad Men fans may have felt a nostalgic sense of deja vu when Apple TV+ released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming drama series Your Friends and Neighbors, which centered on Jon Hamm drinking a whiskey-based cocktail alone at a bar. Based on what we know so far about the series, there are more than a few parallels between Don Draper and Hamm’s latest TV leading role.

What is the plot of Your Friends and Neighbors?
The series begins with Hamm’s Andrew Cooper suffering a dramatic fall from grace. While still grappling with the fallout from his recent divorce, he’s fired in disgrace from his job as a hedge-fund manager. Determined to ensure that he and his family can maintain the luxurious lifestyle to which they’ve become accustomed, Cooper resorts to stealing from his neighbors in the exclusive and wealthy upstate community of Westmont Village. But per the series synopsis, he soon discovers that “the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.”
The series is created by Jonathan Tropper, who previously created the Cinemax shows Banshee and Warrior.

Who is cast in Your Friends and Neighbors?
Jon Hamm
Hamm plays Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a hedge-fund manager who resorts to extreme measures after losing everything, but soon finds himself in over his head. Since wrapping up his career-making and Emmy-winning run on Mad Men 10 years ago, Hamm has remained a TV mainstay, recently starring in the third season of The Morning Show and the fifth season of Fargo. He’s also appeared in movies including Baby Driver, Bridesmaids and Top Gun: Maverick.
Olivia Munn
Munn plays a character named Samantha ‘Sam’ Levitt, and that’s about all we know about her role at this stage. She’s previously appeared in shows including The Newsroom and New Girl, and movies including Magic Mike, Date Night and X-Men: Apocalypse.
Amanda Peet
Peet plays Coop’s ex-wife Mel, but other details of her role are being kept under wraps. Peet’s most notable recent TV role was in the second season of Dirty John, where she gave an acclaimed performance as Betty Broderick, a woman who became notorious for murdering her ex-husband. Peet’s other TV roles include Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Brockmire and Togetherness.
The series cast also includes Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt and Donovan Colan.
What is the Your Friends and Neighbors release date?
Your Friends and Neighbors will be released on Apple TV+ on April 11, 2025. The series will debut with its first two episodes, with subsequent episodes released on a weekly schedule and the finale set to debut on May 30.

How many episodes are in Your Friends and Neighbors Season 1?
Your Friends and Neighbors Season 1 will be nine episodes long. And there’s already more on the way — Apple has already given the show an early Season 2 pickup.
“I’ve had this show in my head for years, and making it has been a dream come true,” Tropper said in a statement when the renewal was announced. “It’s been an absolute thrill partnering with Hamm, along with [fellow EPs] Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, to bring it to life. The support from everyone at Apple has been phenomenal, and the fact that they’ve ordered a second season before we aired our first is an incredible validation and a tribute to the work of this stellar cast, crew, writers, directors and producers who worked so hard to make this show what it is. We can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
