GFI Hospitality, headed by Chairman Allen Gross, has announced the restoration and transition of the former James NoMad Hotel to Hotel Seville NoMad, now part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The hotel’s new era of luxury features a sophisticated lobby bar and guest experiences that draw on the building’s rich history and the vibrant NoMad district it calls home.

The transition and an upcoming property refresh mark the start of a revitalized guest experience in the heart of New York’s NoMad district. The hotel’s restoration to its early 20th-century grandeur aligns with the overall revitalization of the NoMad neighborhood, known for its world-class dining, shopping, and artistic experiences.

General Manager of Hotel Seville NoMad, Tommasi Moccia, says, “Hotel Seville NoMad bridges New York’s storied past and its elevated present, offering a dynamic destination where timeless elegance meets modern luxury.”

The hotel, housed in a 1903 Beaux Arts building, blends timeless architectural elegance with a modern design. The 348-room hotel introduces reimagined guest rooms, refreshed interiors, and engaging guest programming. It also features Il Bar, a newly designed lobby experience.

Located in the dynamic NoMad neighborhood in New York City, Hotel Seville NoMad acts as a gateway to various cultural, culinary and artistic experiences. The hotel houses the renowned restaurant Scarpetta, known for its blend of rustic Italian tradition with refined presentation. The Seville, a hidden speakeasy gem within the hotel, features live jazz and DJ sets, offering a taste of old New York with a contemporary twist.

In addition to its existing offerings, the hotel introduced Il Bar in early 2025 as a new gathering space for guests. The bar serves creative cocktails and small bites, providing a relaxing spot for guests to enjoy during their stay.
