Nicole Kidman had a very busy 2024—in addition to her awards season run for Babygirl, the Oscar winner also had two other movies and three television shows come out.

But it’s 2025 now, and things will be different for the Cold Mountain star this year, she says.

Kidman is already on the promotional trail for her latest movie, Holland, but as she said at the film’s SXSW premiere in Austin, Texas. on March 9, don’t expect much else from her in the coming months.

“I was much more out there last year; this year I have Holland, I have Nine Perfect Strangers, and then I’m off for the rest of year. So, oh well,” she quipped to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film follows Kidman’s character, a teacher and homemaker, as she and her friend, played by Mozart in the Jungle’s Gael García Bernal, unravel a mystery after she suspects her husband (Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen) of living a double life. Along with starring in the thriller, Kidman also produced the mystery movie.

The film’s director, Mimi Cave, said Kidman “was a real champion of the script and a champion of me, so I think that’s the largest contribution to be honest. She really believes in directors, so once it’s in my hands or any director’s hands, she lets you go.”

“I thought it was tonally really fascinating and stylized and stylish and fun,” Macfadyen said of the project. “I’d seen Mimi’s first film and was so impressed with it and thought I just wanted to be part of it.”
