In the wake of announcing that the Switch has hit a new sales milestone, Nintendo says that the price of the Switch and many of its accessories will now change in the United States “based on market conditions.” They’re not saying what, exactly, those pricing changes are, but they’re going into effect on August 3, 2025. This is on top of the announced increase in price for Switch 2 accessories, announced earlier this year.
You can expect pricing adjustments for some of the Switch accessories, such as controllers and amiibo. The list also includes every console in the Switch family (OLED Model, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite) and its accessories. Sorry, anyone who was holding out on buying Nintendo’s Alarmo clock.
Switch 2 will remain unaffected, but it’s already the priciest console that Nintendo’s ever released. The Japanese company also announced that the follow-up console’s accessories would see price hikes earlier this year, before it was released. It is unclear if this new announcement means that things might be about to get even more expensive for Switch 2 accessories, and Nintendo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
