Before unveiling the latest series of graphics cards, Huang reflected on NVIDIA’s decades-long legacy of innovation in the graphics card industry. Alongside it, he highlighted the remarkable advancements in AI technologies, such as DLSS, which have significantly enhanced the capabilities of consumer hardware.

Huang emphasized that early AI models were developed and made possible through the power of GeForce cards. With the next leap in hardware performance, AI has played a pivotal role, as Huang reflected, “GeForce enabled AI to reach the masses, and now AI is coming home to GeForce.” He then unveiled NVIDIA’s next-generation GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, powered by the new “Blackwell” architecture.

Real-time demonstration of NVIDIA RTX 50 series capabilities

After getting a look at the hardware, we were treated to footage of what some of the next-generation graphical effects will look like on the cutting-edge silicon. A demo showed women moving through an elaborate palace setting with ornate designs and lifelike objects. The lighting, textures, and fabrics looked stunning throughout.

These ultra-detailed assets are made possible with DLSS 4, which can compute 2 million pixels and infer the rest to get to 33 million pixels, with three frames generated by AI for everyone calculated. DLSS 4 and RTX Neural Shaders enhance realism, elevate performance in real-time applications, and run smoother and more efficiently than ever.

RTX 50 Series models

The flagship GeForce RTX 5090 GPU announced at CES 2025 is NVIDIA’s most powerful consumer GPU yet. It features 92 billion transistors and over 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS). It outperforms its predecessor, the RTX 4090, by up to 2x, thanks to the Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4 technology. Let’s look at all of the models shown so far:

  • RTX 5090: Featuring 32GB of GDDR7 memory and 21,760 CUDA cores, offering double the performance of the RTX 4090. It will be available on Jan 30th.
  • RTX 5080: Designed to deliver twice the speed of the RTX 4080. Memory: 16 GB GDDR7, Memory Bandwidth: 960 GB/s, Ray Tracing Cores: 4th Generation. The performance of the RTX 5080 delivers twice the speed of the RTX 4080. It will be available on Jan 30th.
  • RTX 5070 Ti: Memory: 16 GB GDDR7, Memory Bandwidth: 896 GB/s, Ray Tracing Cores: 4th Generation, Tensor Cores: 5th Generation, DLSS: Version 4. It will be available in February.
  • RTX 5070: Providing performance comparable to the previous generation’s RTX 4090. It will be available in February.
