Officials say fuel spill into Vaughan, Ont. creek contained – Toronto

Officials in Vaughan, Ontario, said a fuel spill into the city’s creek was contained by local firefighters and city officials.

Vaughan Fire told Global News that a possible fuel spill was reported around 6pm Wednesday around Jason Street and Clark Avenue.

Fuel was reportedly leaking from a storm drain into a creek in Marita Payne Park.

The Vaughan Fire Department said staff from the city’s public works department and firefighters worked to determine the source of the leak and contain it.

A city spokeswoman said a team was on site to monitor containment measures.
