Liam Payne, one of the former members of the boy band One Direction, has died. He was 31 years old.
The English singer is said to have died after falling from the third floor of a hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to state police.
ABC News was among the first to confirm the news.
Several eyewitnesses told the Daily Mail that the incident occurred at the CasaSur Palmero Hotel in the Argentinian capital shortly after 5 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 16.
No further information has been released about the situation as of yet.
Payne was known for being one of the five singers in the popular X Factor-created boy band One Direction, which also included Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.
The group is known for songs like “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Night Changes,” and “Best Song Ever.”
