You’ll see why once you arrive, but Port Hope has been used as a film backdrop for many years.

A few movies that have been shot there include “Pixels” (starring Adam Sandler), “Luckiest Girl Alive” (starring Mia Kunis) and “Murder She Purred” (starring Ricki Lake).

Most of the movies use Port Hope’s downtown to film, filled with adorable shops and stunning heritage buildings.

King Street leads all the way to the waterfront where you’ll find two sandy beaches and a trail to check out.

East Beach is popular among families with lots of sand and spots to post up for the day.

West Beach is known as a sunset spot as it has lots of pebbles, great for skipping rocks as the sun goes down.

Dogs are welcome at both beaches just note that they must be kept on a leash.

If you work up an appetite then you have to head over to Olympus Burger, which was once featured on the popular Food Network show, “You Gotta Eat Here”.

In fact, the burgers here have even been called the best in Canada!

There are a handful of burger options but the Zeus burger seems to be the most popular, with a fresh beef patty, peameal bacon, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, aged white cheddar cheese, Olympus BBQ sauce, lettuce and tomato – yum!

Port Hope, we can’t wait to visit you this summer!
