If you’re looking for ways to unwind in the new year, you’ll be pleased to hear that Ontario’s inaugural lakefront Nordic spa is about to open very soon.

Wander The Spa, will be situated on the site of Wander The Resort, a modern lakeside retreat in Prince Edward County.

The 10,000-square-foot Nordic spa includes a thermotherapy circuit, where you can cycle through a variety of facilities, including a 32-seat sauna, steam, and hot soak pool.

Next to the steam room, you’ll find a scrub area to exfoliate your sin before cooling down with a one to three-minute cold plunge (50 degrees Fahrenheit) that promotes circulation.

If contrast therapy isn’t your thing, you can also rest in the spa’s sunken fireside lounge or the terrace lounge, which overlooks the retreat and provides views of the sparkling West Lake.

Further amenities include two warm soak pools, as well as a temperate dip pool where you can relax to the sounds and views of two waterfalls and multiple fireplaces.

Whisper Beach on West Lake also offers 200 feet of waterfront exclusively to spa guests for a “natural cold plunge experience,” plus two more saunas and cozy Hygge Huts.

The spa’s two private treatment rooms are launching with Reiki, an ancient Japanese method of healing that uses light to touch to channel energy into the body, as well as a relaxation massage that aims to promote circulation.

Wellness practitioners will also offer daily Aufguss sauna rituals, which infuse essential oils, heat, steam, and sound for a multisensory experience.
