The largest Asian supermarket chain in Canada, T&T, is expanding, and its newest space is a whopping 66,000 square feet. In Fall 2026, Ontario’s biggest location will open its doors at 5090 Yonge St. within Empress Walk Shopping Mall.
Here’s what we know.
According to T&T Supermarket, the upcoming store is one of three in Canada that are opening next year, the other two being Erin Mills in Mississauga, Ont., and Gilmore in Burnaby, B.C.
Currently, there are 38 T&T stores in North America, 37 of which are in Canada, with one in the U.S.
What can shoppers expect when checking out this new location?
- Ontario’s biggest bakery section
- Ontario’s largest Asian beauty selection
- Over 500 T&T house products
- Specialty items such as Peking duck, papa chicken, a BBQ station, and a sushi counter
The news of T&T’s latest store comes following the closure of the Loblaws that once stood in its place.
While the internet seemed to be disappointed about the Loblaws closing, they’ll be getting another grocer in its place.
No exact date has been set for the opening of the T&T, but we have about a year before we can start getting truly excited. In the meantime, if you live in Toronto, there are two locations you can currently shop at:
- 292 College St.
- 26 Edward St.
We’ll be patiently waiting for the opening of Ontario’s biggest T&T Supermarket, and if any updates come our way, we’ll keep you informed.
