Papa Johns Launches ‘Crave-Worthy’ New Menu Item in Three ‘So Good’ Flavors 

Papa Johns may be known for pizza, but the international chain is leaning into another popular food type with its latest launch: oven-toasted sandwiches.

The brand is unveiling its “newest, pizza-approved innovation,” telling Parade it’s made “with the best ingredients” and promising that it will “deliver crave-worthy flavor in every bite.”

The new Papa Johns creations come in three chef-curated flavors:

Philly Cheesesteak, made with seasoned chopped steak, roasted onions and peppers, tangy pizza ranch, and white American cheese.

Chicken Bacon Ranch comes with all-white meat grilled chicken, bacon, diced tomatoes, banana peppers, tangy pizza ranch, and white American cheese.

The Steak & Mushroom sandwich features seasoned chopped steak, roasted mushrooms, and onions, all with garlic truffle sauce.

The three sandwiches are made on ciabatta bread brushed with Papa Johns’ iconic special garlic sauce, packing an extra flavor punch.

Papa Johns has been teasing the launch on social media ahead of its debut, first with a video of a mysterious briefcase with a caption sharing that the brand’s secret unlocks on March 30. “i need to know NOW!” exclaimed one enthusiastic commenter on Instagram, as others wrote, “wow this was made for me,” “whatever it is, give me 14 of them stat,” and begged to know more, saying, “What is it?!”

A second video showed a hand holding the oversized sandwich wrapped in foil with notes stating that it’s confidential, but as soon as a knife cut into it, a blurred image appeared, blocking the sandwich from view. “Cmon papa. Give it to me,” said one commenter as another chimed in to say they are “So ready for this.” 

Though the secret has been under wraps until now, some commenters who say they work at Papa Johns gave their early takes on the new sandwiches, writing, “they looked pretty good in the training videos,” and “ive been making some already for Training Purposes and they are lowkey so good,” with another following up to say that “chicken bacon ranch is the best.”
