A city’s accessibility likely doesn’t cross the minds of able-bodied people, but for anyone with a disability requirement, it’s an essential thing to bear in mind when picking a place to visit.
Travel insurance provider Good To Go has just conducted a study of some of Europe’s most popular city break destinations and analysed the number of accessible restaurants, attractions, types of public transport, flight time (from the UK) and the number of hospital beds available across each one.
Coming in first place as apparently the most accessible destination in Europe is Paris, which ranked in the top five cities across all those metrics (other than in public transport options).
In second place, it was Lisbon, and in third place it was Milan. In fact, three Italian cities make the top 10, with Florence in fourth place and Venice in fifth. We covered another accessibility study earlier this year, which you can have a read of here – the results of that look pretty different.
