Following its recent VOD release, Netflix has confirmed that in the United States, it’ll serve as the streaming-video-on-demand home for Lilly, a courtroom drama from distributor Blue Harbor Entertainment.
Arriving on Netflix on November 19th, 2025, the movie follows the true story of Lilly Ledbetter, who led the charge in the historic Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. case, where, after learning she’s paid significantly less than her peers, she takes her employer to court in a landmark battle for equal pay.
Patricia Clarkson leads the cast as Lilly, best known for roles in Pieces of April, The Station Agent, The Maze Runner, and HBO’s Six Feet Under and Sharp Objects. She’s joined by Thomas Sadoski, John Benjamin Hickey, Will Pullen, Josh McDermitt, Deirdre Lovejoy, Bethany Anne Lind, Keith Brooks, Paul Teal, Amy Parrish, Rhoda Griffis, Judd Lormand, and Darin Toonder.
Adapting the book The Life of Lilly Ledbetter Grace and Grit was Rachel Feldman and Adam Prince, with Feldman also directing. The film had its world premiere in late 2024, was acquired earlier this year, and had a theatrical release this summer.
The movie received mixed reviews upon its release in theaters earlier this year, and it was very much down the middle in sentiment. A lot of the positive reviews praised Clarkson’s role in particular and the movie’s messaging, while others felt the movie lacked good execution and could be a bit heavy-handed with its messaging. The New York Times described some of the acting as “Lifetime movie” and concluded that the film is “disjointed and mawkish.”
Audience scores thus far have fared much better with it, sitting at 93% on the “Popcornmeter” on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.3 on IMDb.
