While most Paul Rudd fans know him as the affable everyman in movies like I Love You, Man or as a begrudging superhero in the Marvel universe, the actor is no stranger to throwing his fame behind causes he believes in.
Many celebrities have taken to social media in recent days to voice their support for their candidates of choice, sharing impassioned pleas for voters to get to the polls and posting selfies with their “I voted” stickers.

But Rudd is taking it one step further, and going out to a swing state to help the cause.
On Nov. 5, as voters waited to cast their ballots in the 2024 election, Rudd was spotted handing out water to those in line near Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa.
MSNBC National Correspondent Jacob Soboroff, who was reporting live for the network, ran over to the Only Murders in the Building actor and asked him what he was doing.
“I just wanted to give people water. They’re waiting in line for a long time, and it’s a wonderful thing that all these young people are out voting,” replied Rudd.
He also noted that it was “impressive” that some people had been standing in line to vote for over two hours, and shared that “we’ve been doing lots of stuff today here in Pennsylvania, and we wanted to come out and tell these students they’re doing really great things.”
When Soboroff asked Rudd how he felt about the election, Rudd deflected the question deftly, saying he felt “good about handing out some waters.”
Rudd was later seen doing something similar at Villanova University in Pa. reports Variety. In 2020, the actor handed out cookies to voters waiting in the rain in New York City, and in 2018 he lent his support to Democratic congressional candidate Antonio Delgado, who was seeking to unseat the Republican incumbent in the N.Y. 19th district, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Delgado won that election, representing the upstate New York district from 2019 until 2022, when he was appointed lieutenant governor of New York by current governor, Kathy Hochul.
