Paulina Porizkova Shares 'Sincerest Wish' After 2024 Election Results

Paulina Porizkova shared a straightforward message to the public after the 2024 election results were confirmed.

The 59-year-old former model and actress took to Instagram, posting a black square with white text that said, “The majority in this country has spoken. Although I’m on the [losing] side, I marvel at the powers of democracy.”

“It is my sincerest wish that the next four years will bring you all you wanted and hoped for. As long as it’s not standing by crushing others under your feet,” she concluded.

Porizkova clarified in the caption, “YES, I meant ‘losing’ obviously. Typo. Thanks for all the reminders.#majorityspeaks #congratulations #goodluck.”

People admired her succinct and elegant response to Donald Trump winning a second term as president, with replies like, “Very humble and intelligent comment. I agree with you and am proud of you.”

“You are an exemplary human being,” said another fan, while others chimed in with “Perfectly said!” and “🩵We are strong We have made it through really difficult moments and We will be there for one another now.”

Some fans criticized the end of Porizkova’s message as negative and “unnecessary,” but a different fan said that they felt the message was “Beautifully written, Paulina. Thank you for all that you do.”

Porizkova–who was born in a former satellite state of the Soviet Union, what’s now the Czech Republic, and moved to Sweden as a child before relocating to the United States–was very outspoken throughout the entirety of election season, sharing a video in late October of her experience canvassing in Philadelphia, Pa., and speaking to voters.
