Philippe Kronberg will assume the role of General Manager at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, and AVP Operations for several European hotels, effective January 12, 2026.
Mandarin Oriental has announced the appointment of Philippe Kronberg as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, and AVP Operations for several key European properties. Kronberg will begin his new role on January 12, 2026.
In addition to managing the London property, Kronberg will support Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, Mandarin Oriental Paris, the newly managed Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, and Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium in Amsterdam. The Amsterdam hotel will officially operate as a Mandarin Oriental property from January 14.
Kronberg joins Mandarin Oriental following his tenure as Resort General Manager at Shangri-La in Muscat, Oman, where he oversaw a multi-property beachfront destination comprising three hotels with more than 640 rooms. His previous roles include serving as General Manager of Shangri-La Sydney and overseeing the group’s properties across Australasia. Kronberg’s career also includes general management positions in Turkey, China, Thailand, and Brisbane.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, continues to operate as a central location for the company’s European portfolio. Kronberg’s responsibilities will include overseeing hotel operations and supporting service delivery at the London property, as well as providing operational support to the group’s other European hotels.
Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium in Amsterdam will transition to official management under the Mandarin Oriental brand on January 14. The group’s European presence includes properties in London, Mayfair, Paris, and Amsterdam.
Kronberg’s appointment is effective from January 12, 2026. No further details regarding additional operational changes or strategic plans were disclosed.
