Just as the season of love begins to ramp up, Netflix is delivering a recent sweeping, lyrical romance to its US library. The Irish drama Four Letters of Love, featuring a powerhouse cast of screen legends, is set to land on Netflix US early in February, having already been streaming elsewhere.

Based on the beloved, international bestselling novel by Niall Williams, the film enjoyed a theatrical run in the UK and Ireland last summer. Now, American audiences will finally see the story described as a “miracle of a movie.”

We can confirm that Four Letters of Love will premiere on Netflix US on Thursday, February 5th, 2026. Netflix won’t be the streaming debut for the movie, given that it’s already found itself across multiple services already, and more to comeNetflix did not announce the release as part of its New on Netflix for February 2026 newsletter, but we’ll soon include it on our comprehensive roundup of upcoming releases.

As of the time of writing, the movie is streaming on Prime Video and The Roku Channel, and Paramount+ is scheduled to add it slightly before Netflix on the first. This kind of wide distribution is not all that common with films with most landing on streamers in windows of exclusivity.

Directed by Polly Steele (Let Me Go), the film is a magical realist fable about two young people fated to be together, even though life keeps pulling them apart.

The story weaves together two parallel narratives. On one side is Nicholas, whose father William (played by Pierce Brosnan) upends their family life in Dublin after receiving a “divine message” that he must quit his civil service job to become a painter in the west of Ireland.

On the other side is Isabel, a girl living on a remote island whose family is struck by tragedy. As both Nicholas and Isabel navigate heartbreak, loss, and the eccentric choices of their parents, destiny slowly works to bring them together.

Genesius Pictures and Port Pictures are behind the movie with Debbie Gray and Douglas Cummins producing. It must be said the movie picked up pretty poor reviews from critics at the time of its release with RogerEbert.com being the most scathing saying, “There’s nothing like a good Irish movie with some edge to it. So it’s too bad that “Four Letters of Love” is nothing like a good Irish movie with some edge to it.” Audience scores are far more forgiving, with it sitting at 6.0/10 on IMDb.

A Cast of Legends and Rising Stars

While the central romance is played by two rising Irish talents, the supporting cast is a who’s-who of acting royalty:

  • Pierce Brosnan (Netflix’s The Thursday Murder Club, James Bond) as William Coughlan
  • Helena Bonham Carter (Netflix’s The Crown) as Margaret Gore.
  • Gabriel Byrne (Hereditary) as the poet father.
  • Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) as Nicholas.
  • Ann Skelly (The Nevers) as Isabel.
