“Our first baby had her first baby. ❤️ Thank you Lord, we will never be the same,” Drummond, 55, wrote to accompany a photo showing her holding the little bundle of joy. Drummond’s husband, Ladd, sat beside her as they both gazed down at their new granddaughter.

Alex and her husband, Mauricio Scott, also shared photos of their baby girl in a joint post on Instagram.

“She’s here 🕊️🩷 December 18th 2024,” Alex’s post began. “At 2:27am our perfect girl made her arrival a couple weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you Lord.”

The entire Drummond family has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Food Network star’s first grandchild since May. As Alex revealed in a spring post on her mother’s blog, she and Scott broke the news to Ree shortly before Mother’s Day.

Alex and Mauricio publicly shared the news of their growing family near the end of June as they shared snapshots from their sweet pregnancy photoshoot on Instagram. Once the word was out, Ree gushed over her oldest child’s announcement in a June 23 post on her blog.

“Oh my gosh. Alex is pregnant! My first baby is having her first baby. My child is going to have a child,” she wrote excitedly. Ree later shared some of the names she was considering for herself in a post on Instagram, writing, “Granny. Granny Ree Ree? Maybe just Ree Ree. We’ll wait and see!”

Shortly thereafter, Alex and Mauricio shared a gender reveal video starring their dog, George, as they informed their fans that they were having a baby girl. A few months later, Alex announced that the couple decided to name their daughter Sofia Marie Scott.

“Long story short, we just loved the name,” Alex explained in an “Ask Me Anything” session on Instagram Stories back in November. “We wanted to pick a name that sounded beautiful in English and Spanish, and so we went with Sofia with an ‘f,’ because an ‘f’ is the Hispanic spelling.”

Throughout her pregnancy journey, Alex provided several thoughtful insights on her experience with fans on social media, revealing at one point that her pregnancy was considered “high risk” due to “white coat blood pressure hypertension stuff.” Despite early concerns, Alex said that her blood pressure had “stabled out” by early December, enabling the expecting parents to wait for Alex’s due date to arrive instead of scheduling an early labor induction.
