PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for March 2025 are Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Wednesday. Players can download the trio of games beginning March 4.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is BioWare’s fourth mainline entry in the fantasy role-playing game series that started with 2009’s Dragon Age: Origins. The Veilguard “corrects a number of the mistakes that plagued the otherwise enjoyable Dragon Age: Inquisition, while retaining the elements of the series” that make Dragon Age unique, our reviewer wrote. The latest in the series, Veilguard was released just four months ago, and despite publisher Electronic Arts saying that it underperformed — it didn’t “resonate with a broad enough audience,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said — its appearance as a PS Plus freebie is a big (welcome) surprise. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be available on PlayStation 5.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate is Sega, Sonic Team, and Blind Squirrel Games’ 2021 upgraded re-release of the original Sonic Colors — largely considered one of the better 3D Sonic the Hedgehog games. It will be available on PlayStation 4.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection bundles up 13 classic TMNT games from arcade to NES, Genesis, Super NES, and Game Boy. Go ahead, relive the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time beat-’em-up arcade games when they’re available on PS4 and PS5.

March’s PS Plus Essential games will be available for download through March 31.
