Podcast host, husband killed in Seattle

Redmond, wa. –
A podcaster and her husband were found shot dead in their suburban Seattle home…a nightmare. “
Police were trying to get a protection order for Ramin Kodakaramrezaei, 38, before Friday’s killing, but had trouble finding a truck driver from Texas, said Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe. Zohreh Sadeghi, 33, and her husband, Mohammad Milad Naseri, 35, had just received the court order a week ago.
Sadeghi’s mother called the police after leaving her home and running to her neighbor’s house at around 1:45 am on Friday.
Officers found Naseri lying on the floor near the door of the house, pulled him outside, and saw that he had a gunshot wound. died on the spot. Inside the house, police found Sadeghi and the suspect dead.
“This is the worst result of a stalking case. This is every victim, every detective, every police chief’s worst nightmare,” Lowe said at a media briefing Friday afternoon.
Khodakaramrezaei befriended Sadeghi online in a chat room of Persian speakers looking for jobs in the tech industry in late 2021 after listening to a women’s podcast. Lowe said the two met in person last summer, but contact escalated to harassing phone calls and threats in the fall.
Sadeghi wrote in her protection order application that Khodakaramrezaei showed up at her house and threatened to set her on fire, leaving a voicemail declaring that she would not stop until she “suicides or dies.”
Sadehi tried to cut contact with Khodakaramrezaei, but the harassment continued, so he contacted police in December and again in January after his behavior intensified.
Lowe said at one point the suspect contacted Sadeghi more than 100 times a day. He said a restraining order would only allow police to take action if someone violated the order, but would not protect a person if “someone is intentionally trying to harm them.” He stressed that he could not.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Sadeghi is a software engineer who previously worked at Promontory MortgagePath and studied in a graduate program at the University of Washington. Naseri said that he has been working at Amazon since January 2022, with his blog, when he grew up in Iran, before studying at the Sharif Institute of Technology, he was named the second best singer in Tehran in 2007. said to have been ranked asThe couple got married in 2011 after moving to the US
Many posts on Naseri’s blog detail his efforts to get a job at Google, which he eventually landed in 2017. He worked there for five years and then got a job at Amazon.
While most of Naseri’s posts were about work and technology, he took notice last October of the death of a 16-year-old girl in Iran amid protests over the treatment of women following the death of a 22-year-old woman. I wrote a letter of condemnation. He was detained by the national moral police.
